Witherspoon Lecture: The Role of Congress in Protecting American Values and Life
When the founding fathers wrote our nation’s Constitution, they created Congress to function as one of the crucial supports of a three-legged stool, the others being the executive and judicial. Unfortunately, despite gains in civil rights for persons of color, human dignity is still under attack. What elites call “advances” have opened the door to sophisticated new assaults on life from conception to natural death. When society deems certain lives as less valuable than others, whole classes of people become vulnerable to exclusion from “equal protection under the law”. Thankfully, there are some Members of Congress who still take human dignity seriously. Join one of them, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, as she comes to discuss the role Congress plays in preserving and protecting a culture of life here in the United States.
